1A/2A District Tennis Tournament Results
The 1A/2A District Tennis Tournament was held October 3rd at Fairfield Bay Tennis Center.
Senior Kevin Sanders defeated Taylor Spencer of Shirley 6-3, 5-7, 6-1. He lost in the semifinals to Graham Combs of Sacred Heart 6-3, 6-2. Kevin placed 3rd overall after defeating Caden Houser of England 6-2, 6-1.
Senior Baylee Painter defeated Deeanna Carlton of West Side 6-0, 6-1. She then lost to Allie Mackey of England 5-7, 2-6.
Sophomore Meredith Deane battled through an ankle injury acquired in the first set to defeat Sadie Shoemake of Carlisle 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. Meredith lost in the semifinals to Allie Mackey of England 6-2, 6-0. She was set to play Addie Overturff of Shirley for 3rd place but forfeited due to an injury acquired during her first match. Meredith placed 4th overall.
Kevin and Meredith advance to the State Tournament on Monday in Lake City.
