Bakingly Challenged Soup Sale and Silent Auction!
Viola High School Robotics team “Mechanically Challenged” will be hosting a Dessert Silent Auction at Parent Teacher Conferences on Friday Feb 3rd.
We will also have a soup sale set up during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Come by, support the team, talk to your students’ teachers. There will be multiple soups available for $5 / bowl plus bottled water.
Depending on the weather, we will set up the soup outside or inside the High School. Dessert Silent Auction location to be announced soon!


The months of January, February, and March have been designated as MyON reading challenge months. It is for all students even if they are not part of the Save the Children program. It is our school against other Save the Children schools in Arkansas. The school with the highest percentage of readers ( based on proportion) will be the winner. Let’s try our best to be that school!


Basketball games originally scheduled for February 3rd against Hillcrest have been moved to February 2nd. Games will begin at 5:30 and only the senior girls and senior boys will play.

Due to inclement weather, tonight’s basketball games against Calico Rock have been rescheduled for February 3rd.

A Love for Literacy night is planned for February 7th at 5:00 pm in the safe room at Viola Elementary. It is hosted by Save the Children in-school literacy program. A huge donation of new books have been given to the program to share with children at the school and in the community. It will be a time of family engagement through reading and sharing. Cookie donations are appreciated for that night. Look forward to seeing you.


Tonight’s ballgames against Timbo will start at 5:00.

Congratulations to Oliver Churchman (3rd) and Hayden James (2nd) for getting the most 100’s during the second quarter AR challenge in their STC reading group. They each received a $25 gift card to Walmart.



Marlee Wray (left) and Kadance Brewer (right) repensented Viola in the Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot contest in Highland, AR on January 7. Marlee won second place in her age divison. Kandance won first place in her age divison. Kadance will now travel to Hot Springs in February to compete at the state level. Congratulations to both girls. We are proud of you! Good luck Kadance in Hot Springs!


BMI and Scoliosis screenings will be done during the month of January. BMI screens will be done for grades K-2-4-6-8 and 10. Scoliosis screens will be done for only 6th grade girls and 8th grade boys and girls. These screenings will be done with me and another person present at that time. If you do not want these screenings done on your children please send a written note to school with your child or call the nurse's office at 458-4014. ACT PREP CLASSES: ASU Mtn. Home is offering ACT prep classes again this semester for students who plan to take the ACT. The classes will be $75 for a 6 hour session. They have three Saturday classes available.

Viola High school was recognized as the regional code master for their participation in the Hour of Code competition. Viola Elementary received top honors for their participation as well.



Mrs. Regina’s bus is running, about 1 1 hr 20 minutes late this morning.

Unfortunately, the band concert for 7:30 pm Monday night has been cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Even if you can't be here tonight to see the Elementary Christmas Musical in person, you can watch it on the Viola School District Facebook page (VSD#15).
The program starts at 6:30 pm. Students need to be here no later than 6:15 pm.

Debbie Kinder’s bus will not be running before school this morning. If you are unable to get your student that rides her bus to school, please call the high school or elementary office between 7:30-800. We will send someone to pick them up.

The Viola Elementary Christmas Musical will be this Thursday December 8, 2022 in the high school gym. The students will need to be there at 6:15 and the concert will start at 6:30. Thank you for your support, and I will see you Thursday night.
