
Members of the Junior High Quiz Bowl team traveled to Cotter High School on Saturday to compete against other local schools. Students began the day by competing individually in pool play before being placed on teams with students from other schools. At the end of the day students were awarded gift cards for team placement and also individual performances. The following students were recognized based on their team's final scores. 1st Place Team. Record of 3-0. Dani Riggs and Rylee Scercy. $25 gift card each. 3rd Place Team. Record of 2-1. Memphis Smith and Drake Rogers. $10 gift card each. Elijah Olson and Charlie Hilkert's team finished 2-1 and narrowly missed receiving gift cards based on their team's total points. Charlie's individual effort was rewarded with a $25 gift card as he was one of eight players named to the all tournament team.

Tomorrow, October 25th is Pink Out Day at Lead Hill. Wear your pink to the game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The games will start at 5pm. Come support our Longhorns at Lead Hill!


Fourth, fifth and sixth graders are in the process of making bracelets for the residents of Southfork River Assisted Living in Salem, AR for Christmas. The students will also be making goodies bags for each resident. Thank you to thoes who have donated yarn.

The kindergarten students enjoyed learning about different types of weather and its impact on our daily lives. We created weather tools to observe wind movement and patterns.

Thank you First Baptist Church of Viola for feeding our sports teams and band today. About 120 kids were fed pizza, salad, and desserts. We appreciate the support you give our kids and coaches.

Family and Consumer Science students constructed hand-sewn felt ornaments after mastering the running stitch, backstitch, whip stitch and blanket stitch.

Flu shot clinic permission slips will be sent home Friday October 18th with all students. I will need these forms returned by Thursday October 24th. Everybody will need a form filled out to get the flu shot. This clinic is open to the public also.
