Viola tennis won 6 of 9 matches against Carlisle on Tuesday. Carlisle proved to be tough competition. Several matches split sets and went to tie break situation including 2 of the 3 team loses.

I know it is early but I want you to put this on your calendar. Flu shot clinic is going to be available at the Viola School for any students and employee as well as anyone in the community. Forms will be sent home with students the week before clinic.
Volleyball schedule change next week. Our game at Salem originally scheduled for Sept 9 has been moved to Friday, Sept 6. Games will start at 4:30 pm.

The Lady Longhorns volleyball teams traveled to Alpena tonight.
The JR girls won their match 2-0 to give our school its first official volleyball win.
The SR girls came very close to posting their first win as well, but fell just short in a 3-2 loss.
Our 7th graders made their solo debut tonight. They also got the win over the Lady Leopards.
During the first week of school, first graders learned how scientists use their 5 senses to observe. Then, the first grade scientists used their own powers of observation to record how popcorn tastes, smells, feels and what it looks and sounds like while popping.
We would like to give special thanks to those that donated and helped fund the Donors Choose Hygiene Drive Project.

Seventh-grade students created four different types of homemade bath bombs . Then they compared the chemical reactions to a store-bought bath bomb and recorded data.

Join us in Salem on Monday for our Fourth Annual Labor Day "80's" Car Wash Fundraiser! Mechanically Challenged will be washing cars for donations starting at 11 am in front of the Bank of Salem in Salem, AR. Come join us for 80's themed music and a clean car! We will also have a small snow cone stand for $1 each.
All proceeds go to Viola High School's Robotics Team!
Our golf teams completed their second match of the season today at Cooper's Hawk in Melbourne. We were the only 1a school competing today, but we held our own versus the bigger schools.
Our boys finished with a team score of 142 as team. This was 12 strokes better than last week.

The girls also both improved their individual scores.

The Viola Lady Longhorns volleyball teams traveled to Cave City tonight. It was our first official regular season game.
The junior girls took the first set 25-22, but fell short to the Cavewomen in the next two sets to lose the match 2-1. The sr girls had a tough night losing 3 sets to 0. Our next match is Friday at Alpena at 4:30.
